Julio Cesar Diaz is a gay Texan Centroamericano rediscovering their Houston. They’re the recipient of the 2024 Santa Fe Art Institute BIPOC Award and the 2023 Mass MoCA Massachusetts Artist Fellowship. Diaz has received support from the Bread Loaf Conferences as Translator and Poet, the Palm Beach Poetry Festival, the Juniper Institute, and the Speakeasy Project. Their work can be found in Proverse: Hong Kong, The Cortland Review, Pleiades Magazine, North American Review and is forthcoming elsewhere. Diaz is a graduate of the MFA for Poets & Writers at UMass Amherst.
